Fun, Affordable Kayak Adventure on the New Jersey Coast.

This very special three day kayak adventure is all inclusive with professional guides, true sea touring kayaks with all the gear, great food and lodging in comfortable shelters reserved at Bass River State Forest.  This area of NJ is my favorite in that, besides it's beauty, it is the perfect environment for coastal sea kayak touring.  From the viewpoint of a kayak, you get to see so much more of this unique shoreline.

The trip will be broken into three distinct sections each with it’s own character.
First Day:  You will witness the beauty of the upper wooded reaches of the Wadding River deep within the Pine Barrens.

Second Day  As the Mullica winds it’s way to the sea, you will start to experience the mix of wetland marsh / woods environment which is prevalent along the entire East Coast.   wetlands Wadding River...mid section   lunch break

Third Day  you will experience open water where the Mullica meets the sea at Little Egg Harbor and Holgate Inlet at the southern end of Long Beach Island and the northern end of Brigantine which is north of Atlantic City.

NJ Kayak staff's goal is to provide an affordable kayak learning experience with the added benefit of exploring the pristine Mullica River and this unique area of New Jersey.
If you are new to coastal sea kayak touring, this is your opportunity to be educated in the sport with a small intimate group and share your experiences with like minded explorers.  If you every wondered what a multi-day kayak trip would entail and desire to take your paddling skills to a new level this trip is for you.

Hope to see you soon.  Bill & Carmen, NJ Kayak

In order to participate in the open water trip on Sunday around Holgate inlet, you must have experienced a wet exit and know how to re-entry your kayak.
The fresh water of Lake Absegami at the park is the perfect area to practice wet exit and rescue techniquesAfter lunch, we will travel to our launch area to explore the upper reaches of the Mullica River within the Pine Barrens national Preserve.  We will return early enough for showers, a warm dinner and an evening fire.
Saturday: Sept. 11  An early start with breakfast and a discussion of the days mid river exploration.
This is a longer voyage along the Mullica River in more open part of the river.  Besides the beauty of the river, this trip will prepare you for the open water trip on Sunday.
Sunday: Sept. 12  We will have an early start to break camp and drive the short distance to our launch to explore the entire Holgate Inlet area.  Holgate Inlet is at the southern end of Long Beach Island and the northern end of Brigantine.  It is a very exciting area with open water crossing and fun barrier islands and marsh to explore.
