coastal kayak touring with professional guide instructors.

Weekly by appiontment. Generally
9:30 am & 1 pm when not in conflict with other kayak programs. Please call for
appointment.
Please Note: Special Introductory Kayak Clinic Fees are held
throughout the summer trough Labor Day. |
The Family Kayak Clinic is identical to the Adult
Kayak Clinic in time (2 hours) & content. The only differences are age
appropriate grouping and in the special needs of families. For example, our staff
may determine that the use of a tandem is a safer choice over a single kayak.
What is supplied:
Coastal Sea Touring Kayak equipped with rudder or skeg sized for each guest, quality kayak
lifejacket (PFD) fitted for comfort & safety and quality fiberglass shaft paddle.
We take great care to fit each
quest to their kayak from our extensive fleet of kayaks providing comfort &
performance for all paddling interest & ability. If you are thinking of
purchasing a coastal touring kayak, the kayaks we provide along with the knowlagable staff
providing answers to all your questions, is a great and valuable start. |
| Arrive
1/2 hour earlier than posted starting time for kayak selection, fitting of PFD & the
signing of wavier. All children (9+17) must have parent or guardian sign
wavier. |

How to use Rudder or Skeg
Forward Stroke, Reverse Stroke,
Turning Strokes ( forward & reverse sweep)
Advanced Strokes are demonstrated: High Brace, Low Brace, Draw Stroke
Paddling with the aid of a rudder is useful in adverse wind & tide. |
