Barnegat Inlet Kayak Adventure
Explore Barnegat Inlet, Barnegat Light, Barnegat Bay &
the surrounding islands of the Sedge Islands of the EBF Wildlife Refuge.
This very exciting kayak trip in and around Barnegat Inlet is designed for paddlers desiring a challenging educational experience.  The waters are the perfect classroom, providing swift currents and ever-changing water & weather.  This trip is for experienced paddlers as well as novices that have some previous coastal sea kayak touring experience in open water.

You will be escorted by professional guides that have local knowledge & extensive experience navigating the waters around Barnegat Inlet, which may be challenging.

The Professional Staff of New Jersey Kayak will tailor the trip to support, and increase, your Coastal Sea Kayak Touring skill levels from novice to advanced.
You will discover the unique environment of Barnegat Inlet where the waters of Barnegat Bay meet the Atlantic Ocean.  This interaction of forces makes for a very exciting area to explore and it attracts many unique waterfowl throughout the year.
It is our mission that by exploring your "Adventurous Spirit" you will gain confidence by extending your kayak skills.  We will be very willing to instruct along the way on all aspects of coastal sea kayak touring.
The trip plan is dictated by many factors, such as water and wind conditions.  This decision process on course to take is important for a safe, enjoyable paddle.  This paddle is meant to be a fun exploration while extending your abilities and confidence.

There are many islands, shoals and beaches to stretch our legs and have lunch.  Our goal is to paddle to the Sedge Islands on the North Side of Barnegat Inlet and the Southern end of Island Beach State Park.
One of our stops along the way may be to explore the fishing fleet moored at Viking Village, Barnegat Light.
It is planed to be a five to six hour tour with planed stops to explore the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge islands & sandbars that encompass Barnegat Inlet.
We will launch in the town of Barnegat Light which is located at the northern end of Long Beach Island.
You are welcome to bring your own kayak as long as it is a true sea touring
kayak that is equipped with bulkheads fore and aft for safety, and
preferably equipped with rudder or skeg for directional control.
Most kayaks are at least 15' long to accommodate bulkheads.
